A watershed landowner, Carly B., is in the final stretch to prepare a 8 acre field for a NRCS EQIP habitat restoration contract, and is asking for volunteer support to pick up the last of the plastic trash left behind from an illegal cannabis grow back in 2021. The trespassers left behind many tons of plastic, metal and wood debris. There are bits of twine, sand bags, irrigation emitters and tubing and a few piles of greenhouse plastic that remain and need to be removed before equipment can begin the restoration work later this month. This can be light pick up for small trash removal or heavier work of folding/rolling the large piles of greenhouse plastic for removal.
Volunteers are welcome to walk the extensive private trail system with old growth riparian hardwood forest. Many of the trees are estimated to be 350+ years old. There are 2 private access beaches on the Luckiamute River as well! |
