**Tour is now FULL! Sign up below to get on our waiting list!**
Date: Sunday, June 9, 2019
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Place: Illahe Vineyards
3275 Ballard Rd., Dallas
Join the LWC and Aaron Anderson for a look at how Illahe is using strips of native wildflowers between rows of grape vines to contribute to the health of pollinators and beneficial insects in its vineyards. As we tour this LIVE-certified and Salmon Safe vineyard, Aaron will be using a net to capture some of the insects that are visiting the wildflowers, so we can get an up close and personal view of what's happening within the wildflower strips. Plus, you'll also get some pollinator-friendly landscaping tips for your own property!
**Following the presentation and tour, there will be an optional wine tasting available for $15 per person (for those 21 and over only, of course!)**
About the Presenter:
Aaron Anderson is pursuing his Ph.D. in Horticulture at Oregon State University, under the direction of Gail Langellotto. Aaron is fascinated by native beneficial insect conservation, especially in understanding how to manage urban and agricultural landscapes for pollinators. His Ph.D. research focuses on documenting the relative attractiveness of Willamette Valley native plants to beneficial insects, as well as to home gardeners.
