Please take a moment to review and sign our Event Liability Waiver here, which you can fill out and submit online or, if you prefer, download a printable copy. Copies of the waiver will also be available the day of the event if you are unable to access the online version. Note that current event safety guidelines for outdoor gatherings will be followed. All participants, regardless of vaccination status, are required wear a mask at this event whenever 6 feet of distance cannot be consistently maintained, unless actively eating or drinking. Note that this event will involve walking across rough and uneven ground through oak savanna, meadows, wetlands and riparian forest, so make sure to dress for the weather, wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, and don't forget your water bottle. You are also invited to bring a bag lunch and a lawn chair for an optional picnic lunch at the schoolhouse after the bird walk. Also note that the area where we will be walking has a lot of poison oak, so please be vigilant and take care to stay on the path at all times. Also, please remember to dress in a way that minimizes skin exposure (long pants, long sleeves, closed toe shoes, pant legs tucked into socks, etc.). During this time of year, poison oak often displays bright red leaves but not always. There are a couple of poison oak photos posted below, and your bird walk leaders will be sure to point it out whenever they see it along the trail. We will also have IvyX wipes on hand just in case anybody feels they may have come into contact with poison oak during the bird walk.
Thank you, and I hope you have a fantastic walk!
