Michael Cairns Wetland Dedication Event
In honor of the wetland created by Michael Cairns and many other participants, two educational station signs located on the trail in front of the wetlands will be dedicated. Festivities begin in the sports fields parking lot along Deann Drive. Sponsors include the City of Independence, which owns the land, the Luckiamute Watershed Council, and the many wonderful people who donated to this ongoing project.
The free ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. by Mayor Kate and others will be followed by a few words, a tour of the wetland and signs, and a walk or ride to Divine Distillers for brunch/lunch after party.
