Community Fiesta Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers to join our table at the Community Fiesta on Saturday, August 20 or Sunday, August 21 at Riverview Park!
The Luckiamute Watershed Council and Polk Soil & Water Conservation District are teaming up to host a table at one of the City of Independences most popular summer events - the Community Fiesta! This two-day celebration will have delicious food vendors, live music, cultural dances, fireworks, and tables representing community services, local businesses and organizations. Helping at our table is a great opportunity to experience the Fiesta, meet new friends, and meet the staff and volunteers of two organizations working to create a healthy watershed for all!

Volunteer duties will include:
  • Travelling to Riverview Park in your personal vehicle.
  • Greeting community members at our table and helping them answer any questions (or refer them to someone who can).
  • Interacting with young visitors, helping them with activities, and handing out temporary tattoos.
  • Taking breaks during your shift to walk around and enjoy the rest of the Fiesta!

    Note: Spanish proficiency is not required, but we would like to know if you have some Spanish-speaking ability so we can better plan how we distribute our volunteers among the shifts!
