Calling all volunteers! Celebrate Earth Day with the LWC by helping us protect a beautiful grove of century-old oaks along South Fork Ash Creek. We'll be removing invasive English ivy and bird cherry trees to give native plants and these majestic oaks room to thrive. Your efforts will help maintain healthy wildlife habitat and shade for Ash Creek’s waters.

This event marks the third year in a series of successful invasive species removal efforts at this site. Thanks to dedicated volunteers like you, we've made incredible progress—and we're excited to keep that momentum going! Come roll up your sleeves, connect with nature, and make a lasting impact on this special oak grove.

This Earth Day volunteer event involves:

• Walking over uneven terrain and through vegetation that may include thorns, brambles, exposed roots, and poison oak (we will have Tecnu available for pre- and post- poison oak exposure treatment)
• Using pruners and loppers to cut ivy vines and pull them off of and away from tree trunks
• Using loppers to cut small diameter invasive bird cherry trees
• Using a wheelbarrow and/or carrying armloads of ivy vines over short distances
