On Earth Day - April 22, 2022 - a total of 12 volunteers joined Project Manager Jean-Paul Zagarola and Outreach Assistant Kendra Callahan at Luckiamute State Natural Area (LSNA) to help spread mulch around hundreds of newly planted native trees and shrubs. The LWC is so grateful to everyone who joined in and contributed their hard work towards helping our new plantings thrive and grow up to expand the floodplain forest habitat here at LSNA.
Our watershed restoration work would not be as successful without our wonderful volunteers! THANK YOU!
Thanks to our partners - Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) and Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF), as well as funding from the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB), Meyer Memorial Trust (MMT), Bonneville Power Adminstration (BPA) and PGE Habitat Fund, the 60 acre field within LSNA's North Unit is being restored to its historic forested condition.
